Training of Trainers: Day 1 – Introducing Social Behavior Change Communication Strategy

We’ve officially kicked off the Training of Trainers (ToT) on Behavior Change Communication (BCC), part of the PARENTS Project by Plan International Indonesia in collaboration with nudgeplus.

Held in Lombok at 26-28 May 2025, this 3-day training brings together more than 40 participants, including:

• PKB/PLKB,
• Representatives from BKKBN provincial and district offices,
• Field facilitators from Plan International Indonesia,
• And other delegates from nine districts across West and East Nusa Tenggara:

🧠 Day 1 focused on the foundations.
Participants were introduced to core concepts of behavioral science, such as the intention-action gap, cognitive biases, and the MINDSPACE framework. They also explored key findings from behavioral action research, which informed the development of 16 localized nudges aimed at increasing caregivers’ attendance in BKB parenting classes.

Through interactive discussions and walkthroughs, participants began to reflect on how communication strategies can be made more persuasive, inclusive, and locally relevant.
