We are hiring short-time positions to help nudgeplus team run a study on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). They are expected to work for 3 months (January – March 2021) with the behavioural economist and communication specialist from nudgeplus. The works and meetings are held virtually; thus, candidates from any city in Indonesia can apply.
Who are we?
nudgeplus is the pioneer of nudge services in Indonesia. It is established to meet a huge demand in hacking notorious behavioural problems with backups from the fast-growing development of behavioural sciences and the cutting edge of experimental research. Our goal is to narrow the gap in knowledge of behavioural sciences and help public and private institutions, as well as non-profit organisations, to change their stakeholders’ behaviour through research, consultancy, and training.
What are we currently doing?
Despite moving to more developed countries, Indonesia still faces some challenges in improving inclusive access to water and sanitation for all people. More efforts and attention have been paid to close the gap in achieving universal access to water and sanitation. Along with public sector programs, the private sector plays an important role in market-driven approaches. For instance, encouraging financial sectors’ involvement to mobilize commercial funds towards the water and sanitation sector. The initiative allows people to have an opportunity to improve their sanitation facilities, such as household water connection, borewell, toilet, and septic tank.
To accelerate the initiative, we plan to develop new Behavioural Change and Communication (BCC) tools aimed to strengthen the demand generation process. The tools include water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) manuals, videos, and posters to empower the field agents in conveying appropriate and effective messages into the communities. While the tools seem promising to support the achievement of universal access to water and sanitation, the impact has not been scientifically tested. With a rigorous study, the intervention can be further evaluated whether it is impactful enough to be implemented in a wider population.
