We recently had an insightful meeting with Bapak Direktur Edi Setiawan and the dedicated team at Direktorat Ketahanan Remaja–Kemendukbangga/BKKBN. The discussion focused on strengthening the Gerakan Ayah Teladan Indonesia (GATI) program and addressing one of Indonesia’s emerging social challenges—fatherlessness.
The conversation explored how psychological insights and behavioral science can enrich the GATI program by providing evidence-based approaches to address fatherless issue. We discussed the importance of fathers not just being physically present but also emotionally engaged, shaping children’s resilience, well-being, and long-term development.
This partnership represents an exciting opportunity to deepen research and data-driven insights on fatherless in Indonesia, as well as potentials to create supportive environments and policies that encourage father involvement at all levels.
Our joint commitment is clear: to build a future where no child feels the absence of a father’s presence and support.
Together with BKKBN and other partners, we are confident that GATI will continue to evolve as a transformative movement—strengthening families, supporting children’s well-being, and ultimately contributing to Indonesia’s social resilience.
